Electronic Tuners

If you have ever struggled to tune your harp, a chromatic electronic tuner is probably the answer.

When a string is plucked, the LED meter displays the name of the note and degree sharp or flat. The harpist merely has to turn the tuning peg until the green light appears signifying a perfectly tuned string! In quiet environments, the tuner is able to pick up the note via its internal microphone.

If the tuner is having difficulty isolating the harp note from any other background noise, simply attach a specially designed tuner pick up to the tuner's input jack. This clips on to the harp and picks up the vibrations from the wood, giving the tuner a much stronger signal. (Tuner pick ups will not amplify a performance. For this, see our Amplification section.)
